Crossing Horizons: A Road Trip Saga to Florida Amidst COVID-19

The journey to Tampa on April 18th was fraught with unexpected twists and turns, a tale woven with the threads of determination and resilience. As the airline's cancellation loomed over my plans, I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to embark on a road trip, traversing the vast expanse from Colorado to Florida in pursuit of new beginnings.

The road stretched endlessly before me, each mile marker a testament to my unwavering resolve. Yet, with every passing moment, the challenges mounted, testing the limits of my endurance. The incessant need to stop for restroom breaks, a seemingly endless battle against time and bladder alike, threatened to derail my progress at every turn. And when convenience stores along the way stood shuttered in the wake of the pandemic, desperation led me to improvise—a makeshift rest stop on the side of the road, a 32-ounce cup my only lifeline in a sea of uncertainty.

But fate, it seemed, had other plans. A clumsy misstep, a shattered cup, and a cascade of liquid chaos—my moment of humiliation writ large against the backdrop of a solitary highway. Yet, amidst the chaos, there was solace to be found in the simple comforts of baby wipes and spare clothing, a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there is light to guide the way.

Undeterred, I pressed on, the road stretching out before me like an endless ribbon of possibility. Hours turned into days as I journeyed ever onward, fueled by a relentless determination to reach my destination. And when exhaustion finally threatened to overtake me, a welcome respite awaited in the form of a hotel room—a sanctuary of warmth and comfort amidst the cold embrace of the night.

As dawn broke over the horizon, I emerged renewed, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. And when the sun dipped below the horizon once more, casting its golden light upon the tranquil waters of Tampa Bay, I knew that I had arrived at last.

In the days that followed, amidst the breathtaking beauty of my new surroundings, I found solace in the simple pleasures of home. And though the road ahead may be fraught with uncertainty, I take comfort in the knowledge that I am not alone.

For even in the darkest of times, there is hope—a beacon of light to guide us through the storm. And as I embark on this new chapter of my life, I do so with a sense of optimism and anticipation, eager to embrace whatever adventures lie ahead.

So here's to new beginnings, to journeys yet untold. May we find strength in adversity, courage in the face of uncertainty, and joy in the simple moments that make life worth living.

Until next time,

Blessed be!
